LIGHTING, PRODUCTION DESIGNER & DIRECTOR
Richard is an award winning designer who has been involved in lighting and production projects around the world.
Credits include designs for Stage, Special Events and Motion Pictures.
Currently Richard is a freelance production and lighting designer, an instructor at Marymount College in Technical Theater and a partner in the TV production company “Bang The Drum Productions”
His most recent design credits were as the Lighting Designer for the Childrens Defense Fund's Annual Fund Raiser "Beating The Odds"Awards and for the Golden States Pops Orchestra's 2011/2012 concert series and for the stage play “The Elephant Man”.Other credits also include the Lighting Design for the Ballet “Alice In Wonderland” in Thousand Oaks, The Pala Casino New Year’s Celebrations, Best Booth Award Winner at LDI 2009, Lighting Designer for the ballet “Cinderella” at the El Portal Theatre and the designer on the, Christo inspired, wrapping of the Ricardo Montalban Theater in Hollywood, featuring the band “OK GO” as well as the Lighting Designer for “The Mummy, The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” premier at Universal Studios, Gibson Theatre.
His other credits include the Lighting Design for the stage shows for “Bratz The Movie”, Lighting Designer for “The Giffoni Film Awards” at the Kodak Theatre and the Lighting Designer for “The Bentley Customer Appreciation Event” and “Parade Magazine” at Raleigh Studios and designer for the MPSE “Golden Reel Awards” at the Bonaventure Hotel.
Richard has designed many original LED products such as LED Chandeliers, LED columns and re-designed fiber optic drapes to use LED illuminators and also designed a LED drape to compete with fiber optic drapes for the events industry.
Richard has traveled extensively throughout his career and has completed projects in Asia, Europe, Australia and Brazil, as well as many cities within the USA.
